Ok, i've already researched that, and the best I found is teh following on the faq "probably youre using a no cd patch", thing is, I never use cd's on the drive, a have 3 hds here, all full off games, and I like to install the games and then putting the cd inside a cd carrier that holds 300 cd's, so it wouldnt be very fun searching a cd everiiytime I want to play a different game! And to "remove" this no cd patch would only be possibly by reinstalling the game!
Anyway how to remove this thing?
And why does it happen?
And in the faq it said that it would only happen in custom maps, is there any pre-made map for this mod, like the world map rhye's use on his mod?

Its copy protection to make sure people legally own copies of the game (by ensuring they have the CD).

But i dont think thats a nice thing to do, I have the original civ 4 and warlords, however I do not fell it is pratical to search a cd on all the cds I have, I have pc since the 486 was released, so you should imagine how many cds i have. And this "protection' does not insure that people own original games, pirated games wouldnt sell if they didnt worked. Only thing this protection does is i creating an obstacle to the enjoyment of this mod.

You still have CDs from back in the day? And I thought I was a compulsive saver. Every year or so I sift through my collection of old install CDs and decide what is obsolete.

I reluctantly chuck a few upon these rare moments of cleansing. (Do I really need this setup disc for a 1996 Creative external 56K modem? Do I still even have that old thing? Since all I have is a cell phone, what would I plug it into even if I could find the modem? **snap** One less disc.)

The rest I keep. Even still, I have a hundred or more in rotation at any given time, maybe a dozen of which I actually access. So now that I think about it that way, most of my collection is junk. :P

Assuming you really do have the CD someplace in your collection, it couldn't hurt to develop a system where you keep better track of your regularly accessed CDs. I may have four or five games installed on my system at any time, and those CDs I keep close at hand. The others can quietly collect dusk out of the way in the "games" section of my collection, just in case I have an odd hankering for some game from the mid 90's.

There are only two ways I can reasonably imagine that your life is made difficult by the fact that copy protection is part of CIV IV. One, you pirated the game somehow. (I have sometimes done that myself, but CIV IV is worth the purchase IMO.) Or two, you have severely truncated organizational skills (perhaps accompanied by near pathological levels of impulsivity and narcissism).

In short: get with the program, bub. The world ain't here just for you. How hard can it really be to put CIV IV on top of the pile?

I use a no CD patch and have no problems with the game. I have played though this mod several times with different options enjoying hours of gaming. Perhaps your problem is caused by something else.

p.s. My problem isn't keeping my games organized...my problem is that my wife "reorganizes" everything and my son gets into everything. I hate having to spend an hour or more trying to figure out where my CD has gotten too when I get a moment to myself and want to induldge in my favorite escape.

no-cd patchs are great when it comes to cd/dvd's you don't need. after i install a game, i don't need the cd/dvd anymore except as their constant checkup, everything on the cd/dvd has been copied.

the only things i want to have to switch my cd/dvd's for is movies or musik, that i don't have already stored on my hd. when i play a console i don't mind putting in a dvd because its not already stored on my console. civ4 and such are installed on my hd, they take up space, the only time i want to have to find those cd's is when i re-install them.

"perhaps accompanied by near pathological levels of impulsivity and narcissism"
maybe you have an pshychiatric graduation to make this kind of statement? Even more from not knowing the person, and even more by doing so only by reading a comment I made about hsi annoying problem. MAybe you're an paranormal person to discover those things. Or maybe you're just another idiot from the many idiots we find on the net, that likes to arrogantly say things they dont understand, and act like a jerk. If you cant help dont post here.
And if you were better at actually reaidng things before dumping junk on the topic like you did, you would probably have come with the following: "And to "remove" this no cd patch would only be possibly by reinstalling the game!", said by me in the first post. And if you cant understand that i explain: If I reainstall the game, wich realy, it would be too much trouble only to play a mod who used that "protection", I wouldnt be able to use no-cd for this game. Ever. It means even if i want to play civ 4 or another mod I would have to use the cd, and if at any time I decide to instal the no-cd again, I wouldnt be able to play this mod again, if I really want to I would have to the "delicious" thing of unninstalling/installing again.
And other persons agreed with me. You dont know how is the house of the persons who post, neither do you know their family, nothing. And this "protection" does not diminishes the piracy of this game even by 0,0000000000001%, only thing it does is creating an obstacle to the enjoyement of this game.
And all, I will repeat, ALL the hardcore gamers I know use no-cd patches. Even my cousin 14 years old.

Please discontinue this thread. The FfH forum isn't a place for this debate. There isn't anything we do as a mod to effect copy protection one way or the other so the issue is best handled in the vanilla Civ4 forums.

If anyone has a specific question about copy protection as it relates to FfH please fell free to PM me.
