Game is crashing: New here

I just bought and installed the Conquest game. I've been playing Civ 3 for several years with few problems with the game... ecept that after a patch install 1.29.. I lost the capability to view and build the palace.

When I installed Conquest and try to view Science .. I get an error message like this : art\civilopedia\icons\buildings\palacemeasmall.pcx and then the game crashes.

My son tried playing last night and during his game, the game crashed when he tried to build palace. He doesn't remember the error message, but thinks it was similar to the one above.

This may be covered in other threads. If someone can give me some help here how to correct this problem, we would be very grateful!

I have downloaded and installed the patch 1.12 and plan to download and install the most current patch today for Conquest. But.. I have a feeling this won't solve the palace glitch I have in my program.

Please help!

Welcome to CFC.
Since you were having issues with the palace before installing Conquests you're probably right in thinking the 1.12 patch won't solve the problem.
You may need to reinstall Civ3, plus the 1.29 patch, then reinstall Conquests.
If you decide to do this, use the Uninstall for both programs rather than just deleting files. That can create some issues by leaving unwanted registry entries behind.

ok.. I have unistalled and reinstalled v1.21 and v1.29...

Now I uninstall Conquests and reinstall and then uninstall and reinstall the Conquest patche???

Currently downloading the v1.12 from Infogrames/Atari site.. I mispoke earlier and actually have only installed the first Conquest patch.

Another question.. do you need to install all patch versions? Or does the latest patch cover everything?

Latest patch covers everything.
Actually you probably don't need to reinstall Conquests, just install the 1.12 patch. See if the problem was solved by reinstalling Civ 3. I'm guessing it was.
