Game keeps crashing

I am having problems with Civ4 during the later stages of games. The map display can fluctuate, the game frequently crashes to desktop, using saying something along the lines of couldn't allocate graphics memory, sometimes the entire monitor stops working, or the computer reboots.

I have tried adjusting graphics settings in the game, but this hasn't fixed it.

My computer is a Pentium D 2.6/2.6 Dual Core, with 1GB RAM, and a GeForce 7300 GS graphics card.

However you may still have problems since you don't have 2gb ram, I'm not sure.

I'd actually planned to upgrade my RAM for a while, and after increasing it to 3MB I haven't seen the problem again yet. Will see how it goes before trying that fix.
