I know epic is 900, and I know Marathon is at least 1000, but I think its pretty close to 1000.
I agree. Marathon games end in yr. 1801.
BTW, how are you doing with your Marathon games in Fire? I have not been able to play with the counter moving too fast IMO for that slow speed and have gone to Epic speed.

I've taken a look for you at the CIV4GameSpeedInfo.xml file of the ffh2 mod:
Marathon: 1800
Epic: 990
Normal: 690
Quick: 480
Marathon: 1800

You are right, the counter is rising incredibly fast in Marathon games.
If I did not rush for Pact of the Nilhorn and adequately promote the Hill Giants, the Riders of the Apocalypse would crush me like a bug without even noticing I was there.

It's a shame. While I really enjoy Fire a lot, it has taken my favorite two settings out of play: Marathon and Raging Barbs.
It's OK as you just modify your game and play with what you have.
I still haven't heard from anyone who has been able to play Fire on these two settings.
Yes, I am usually playing two games simultaneously at different settings. My Marathon game usually take about 24 hours to complete - often ending in a Time Victory, which really lasts a long time. Often I enjoy letting it go on to see the various techs, wonders, units, etc. you don't get until later in the Marathon games.
But, for now, I am playing Epic/No raging barbs, but agressive AI to spice things up a bit.

I rush for the Three Stooges especially when playing the elves more for their bombarding skill than their strength. I am surprised they were able to stand up to any of the Horsemen. They must have really had Courage for that.
Also, I think the new version of the Stooges is weaker as I reported in the bug thread.
