What's your favorite Game Speed/Age Length combination right now?

There was a fix to a bug related to slower game speeds (Epic and Marathon) in one of the patches, so good chance it works properly now.

Haven't tried myself.

Ahh thanx, good to know! My next game then will be Marathon Long . I have to say though, i do not find Epic to be too fast for me. Maybe Marathon would then be too slow? Sacrilege

some age progress is added when a civ is completely eliminated

so this messed up my timing in my last game - taking out my neighbor's capital while the IP crisis had already started. Things got a bit hectic after that.

Taking the capital doesn't do anything, unless it's also their last city. It's only on player elimination that the age progress is sped up.

My first game I tried epic, but it seemed a bit drawn out. But I will go back to it again I believe now I learn the systems. I had abandoned my first game at the end of antiquity. But now with almost 3 full games under my belt, I'm ready to both move up a difficulty level or two and go back to epic. Possibly with longer ages as well (I sometimes get a little frustrated not being able to finish the civics trees).
