1. I played a civ 4 mode called rise of mankind or something for a long long time with no problem so I decided to try a few others then I ran into major issues.
2. I updated my MOBO drivers and nivida drivers I tried playing the ryhes and fall and a few other mods and I've enountered the same issue everytime.
3. It would randomly do it after turns or even while the game was just open for a long period of time. I could sit at desktop but after awhile in game it would crash, Even in early rounds. Sometimes however I could get through about 5-10 rounds.
I've reformated 3 times rolled back old drivers and everything. At first the issue seemed to be called a nvata or something issue.
Sometimes my game would crash to desk top for "The game is not responding". Sometimes I would blue screen, Sometimes my computer would reboot. I fixed the nvata issue and did a TON of stuff.
Finally now it just freezes and the only way out is to manually restart.
I have a very good system.

RAM:2 gig 6400 DDR 800 great ram.
I've even ordered 2 more gigs.
I looked all over the place and I've been absolutely smashed by all kinds of errors for this game that causes these things.
Are there common fixes or things I can tweak that may be causing my lockup. I'm fairly good with computers but I'm stomped here and I love the game and it's mods.
