Does anyone else have an issue with a newer PC (Windows 10) where the game stops responding during AI turns? I can hear what is going on but can't actually see the attacks. The game snaps to after everything settles down and I can carry on, but it makes it challenging playing.

Just wondering if there are any settings I can try to eliminate this.

With Win 10 and TOTPP (0.13) my turns become slower and slower when playing a game. When I restart Civ 2 ToT with ToTPP, the next turns recover to normal speed before again slowing down. The task-column (I don´t know the proper English term for it) below the Civ Window, hosting the icons for other games, is flickering, but I never had a complete 'black-out' of the game´s graphics. I don´t have those problems when playing Civ 2 ToT with Win 10 and not using ToTPP. Can it be, that here is a kind of a memory leak with ToTPP?

Not sure if it works for CIV2 but for CIV3 I fixed this same exact issue by going into the properties of the games exe file and changing to to Windows XP compatibility mode.

@JPetroski I had this exact problem as well, but on Windows 7. Using Windows XP compatibility mode, as @chrisbk88 said, worked very well for me. If you start Civ2 with the TOTPP launcher, change the compatibility mode on that executable instead of (or in addition to) civ2.exe.

I have the same issue in both MGE and ToT

I use Windows 7 to play both versions, so unfortunately can't be a big help with issues that might be specific to Windows 10... sorry. But this thread indicates that a recent Win 10 update may have caused an MGE issue that was resolved by another later update. So definitely be sure you're current on all OS updates.

For MGE, are you running CIV2UIA? If not, I highly recommend doing so; if you are and are still having problems, I'd recommend posting about it in the development thread for that program. FoxAhead (the creator) is usually pretty active there and does his best to help troubleshoot issues.

For TOT, be sure you're running the latest release of TOTPP which is 0.16. Although I posted above that I was using compatibility mode, I actually reinstalled TOT from scratch before installing TOTPP 0.16, and so far I'm having no issues despite leaving compatibility mode turned off. (Knock on wood!) But again, that's Win 7. There have been mixed reports regarding behavior in Windows 10, which (again) may be changing over time due to OS updates.
