Evening,
First off:
Civ IV BTS 3.13 with the unofficial 3.13 patch
I picked up an Acer H233H monitor the other day and plugged in Civ IV earlier today. Upon loading the main menu I realized something was wrong. A sliver of the top of screen appears to be cut off. Imagine the size of the top of your Internet Explorer Title bar and the address bar put together. The bottom part of the screen is exactly where it is supposed to be and has not lost anything. I wouldn't be so worried about this except that it cuts off the UI as well. I don't know why it is not scaling properly but I haven't found any other games with this issue nor any answers yet online.
The native resolution is 1920X1080. When I change the in-game option to 1680X1050 the problem resolves itself, however the text becomes far too fuzzy to do much more than give me a headache after a few minutes. Is this widescreen resolution just not supported or do I need to change something.
Of course I can always play it in a window at 1680X1050 I suppose but if I wanted to do that I'd just return this monitor and plug the old one back in. Thanks for any help.
