I had np's playing civ 4 for months and now suddenly something changed.
All the option screens that come up after the intro screens have no written info showing. So for example, since I know where the go back/exit button is..I can do so but the word "back" no longer shows.And this is the same for all the various game set up screens.
I tried randomly starting up a game with unknown parameters and after 10 mins of it trying to start up a new game..it looked like a no go.
Before this problem started I suddenly had multiplayer out of synch messages with a few new games. But AI games still worked fine. And for 3 + months before that I had np's at all.
My pc is 2.4ghz, has 512 ram, 915 mb's ram available,direct 9.0 c, win xp service pack 2,new video drivers for my nvidia geforce4mx440 vid card, dell dimension pent 4, & I updated windows.
I know my available ram # is low but it worked fine for months.
Any suggestions are much appreciated !
