Game turns off PC

Hi,

I have installed Rise of Nations and I am currently playing the learn game. However after a while, the PC shuts down from one second to another. I have the latest patch for the game installed and also the latest Direct X drivers.

My config:

IBM Thinkpad R50P
1.7 Pentium M
1 Gb RAM
ATI FireGl T2 with 128 Mb RAM

Any help is appreciated.

I got the same problem, it's the video card I think.

Hi,

I tried to go down to 1024x768 32bit. That is OK, but not the real thing as I usually have 1600x1200.

Sounds like a video card "stop error" as Microsoft terms it. Try to find a driver update for your video card. I kept getting these errors whilst playing Rome Total War with the Parthians and Sarmatians. I updated the driver for my video card, and it has lessened the occurance of these errors. However, they do still happen on occasion.

Different game, sounds like the same problem.
