Game Will Not Start

I have just bought the game, and after downloading the game there were some graphic issues so I updated my computer, then post update my game would not load. I went online for the answer to my problem, nothing worked. The thing that happens is my game will continually say "prepairing to start Civ 6" and just close and reopen several times before quitting. Please let me know what I need to do in order for it to work again.

Sounds graphics related if it fails while it looks like it closes and reopens several times. I had another game that would do that, forget what it was. Pretty sure it eventually started working on its own.

Check and see if any instances of the game exist in the list of processes in your Task Manager, close them before trying again if there are.
Next I'd try changing the resolution being displayed on the monitor (scaling it down that is).

Last resort, uninstall and redownload the game? Maybe try to get a refund if you decide to give up. A future game build or a different computer might make it easier, so eventually when the game is on sale you can rebuy it in hopes it plays. It's not worth it to buy it for the current price if you can't play it for the next half year until the price drops.
