game without a player?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone think it's possible to create a mod that would let AIs play against each other without any player in the game?

It could be used to check how the AI play or just for the fun of watching a 18 AIs matchup and see who would win (yeah, I'm weird sometimes )

Anyway I got 0 talent for this, but I wonder if a good modder could pull this off?

There's no need for such a mod. Create a game, open the console and type Game.AIPlay numberofturnsyouwanttheAItoplay.
I think you need to add the cheatcode to the ini file for the console to work.

Thread about the cheatcode.

Just open the shortcut to _Civ4Config (in your civ 4 directory), search for cheatcode and replace the 0 with chipotle.

hmmm... it works but it doesnt let you watch. Do you know if theres a way to make the AI run your civ or have your entire civ autorun?(so I could watch it)

I agree - this would be quite handy.

I'm sure they must've used such a tool to test out the AI in development. It's probably in there somewhere for us to find.

Alright!!!! I figured it out! Ok, First you set(in custom game screen) the first AI player to be automatically on your team(so you can see him/her) then when you're in the game do this: Game.AIPlay 1 and your people will be gone. You now have a lion in ice areas(the unpassable one) set it to sleep. press enter and watch your team mate.(though you probably wont see their interactions with other civs, diplomatically). Thats what i'm doing right now. Now people who have to make sure the AI is using something they made can do it easier and quicker.

I don't know of any way to make the AI take over your civ. But pressing ctrl + z will reveal the entire map. Only problem is you still won't see much since the turns are so fast.
