My game is not showing me my own troops' movements. I have the "show friendly moves" toggled to on, so I can't figure out what other setting could possibly affect this.

Anyone else having this problem or have any thoughts?

No replies at all?

Is it that I'm missing something obvious or that no one else is experiencing this or that no one else considers this a problem???

it probably just skipping, similar thing happens to me... graphics card can't handle it i guess

No it's not because of your graphics card. The same thing is happening to me, automated moves are not centered upon like they were in Civ3. Maybe a patch will address this, or at least have an toggle option to show automated movements?

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having this problem. When it didn't show up in the forums, I thought maybe I had something set wrong...

Just thought that I would add that this is also a problem for me. I've resorted to moving my units the max for a turn at a time. They need to fix this in a patch.

I was wondering about that. Yeah I don't get to see my own unit moves either. This is definitely a bug in the game.

Actually I think this was done on purpose, to streamline gameplay. If you happen to see the automoves taking place, you'll notice that they can happen simulatenously. This is a good thing for workers running about, but kind of sucks if you want to see what that auto-explore unit is finding or if you want to track the progress of a unit moving a large distance.

So, it would be cool if there was an option to focus on auto-movements for non-worker units, for instance. Chalk it up as another patch suggestion. :D

Thanks to all for the confirmation that I'm not crazy.

I think this is a significant issue that should be addressed in a patch soon. It's especially annoying once the map gets large and you have units doing their thing who are way too far apart to track them all. I understand the point about streamlining, but this should definitely be an option.

As a side note, I too bought a new computer for CIV 4. I was on a P3, 866mhz with a 32MB Geforce3 TI200. I knew that would not be up to the task.

I got a Dell Inspiron 9300 with a 2ghz Pentium M and a Geforce Go 6800 256 MB. The game sails on the new machine at high detail and 1920X1200 resolution.

It is a thing of unmitigated beauty.
