Game won't start

I just downloaded a new copy of Civilization 5 from Amazon and I can't get it to start on my computer. When I select which version of DirectX to use the DirectX prompt disappears but the game does nothing. I installed the game normally and activated it on Steam.

Have you tried a reboot of your system? That fixed this issue for me.

Other than that, have you tried the other DX option as well?

I wish I could help then maybe I could help myself. I bought two copies and have two Steam accounts. Unfortunately I can only get it to work on one of the computers.
