Time for a new one (sorry jeps).

A small puzzle: How many squares are there in the pic below?

Ok, it looks like rectangles. But that's no excuse!

Diamondeye got it!

5 in the centre, so now they are out of the picture
For the rest:
One 4x4
Four 3x3
Nine 2x2
Sixteen 1x1

5+1+4+9+16 = 35

The norwegian author Jan Kjær Stad has written a trilogy about a norwegian tv-producer who was convicted for a serious crime.

What is the name of the tv-producer and what was his/her crime?

If you are counting squares, and not rectangles, how can you have Nine 2x3?

Want me to find an easier one?

Who is -evidently- behind the series of "alternative strategy articles" that the user Troytheface is posting on the Strategy&Tips part of the Civ4 part of this board?

Attacko.

If I'm right, open floor.

Try another puzzle:

The digits from 1 to 8 shall be placed into a box in the pic above. There's one rule though: neighboring numbers (e.g 3 and 5 is 4's neighbors) can't be placed next to eachother (horizontally, vertically and diagonally).

If you've figured it out, give the answer like this:

x
x

Thanks. Once you realize that 1 and 8 has to be situated there (since those positions have six contacts with other numbers, making it impossible to place a number with two neighboors there), the rest came rather fast.

Open Floor.

Just to give the answer to mine, those are all pictures from movies (Colour Purple, The Turning Point, Gangs of New York) that were nominated for over 10 academy awards (11/11/10) and won none.
