Bush sent a bitingly sarcastic e-mail message to Gore, rejecting his proposal to ban advertisements financed by unregulated ``soft money.'' The message also accused the vice president of trying to cover up personal corruption and mocked him for once having claimed credit for inventing the Internet.
``Thank you for your email. This Internet of yours is a wonderful invention,'' Bush wrote to the vice president.
