German ethnic group in Phoenatica

Good idea to Octavian (sorry I missed that post.) If we're going to do that, we'd better hurry and figure out a name. So far we have:

Munchen
Trier
Koln
Wolfenbuetel
Bremershaven
Buxtehude
Oberpfaffenhofen
Frieden
Friedenburg

And then the obvious:

Berlin
Munich
Hamburg
Bonn
Frankfurt
Bremen

And just a suggestion:

Kanzlersburg (fictional, just thought it kinda sounded good)

Any other suggestions?
 
I'd just like to remind everyone to vote Ja for a German city in the Poll Subforum. Thanks to Stuck_as_a_Mac for posting the poll. So far we have no dissenters... good, all political opposition will be crushed. No, wait... nevermind.
 
This thread reminds me an awful lot of "The Norwegian Ethnic Group". The name, the way it starts and now you want a german city, like we (In the Norwegian Ethnic Group) first discussed in our thread and then made a reality, the city is called Valhall and is located in Normandy.

How did you get it sticky? Because we didn't and now our thread is practicly dead.
 
Well, mein Viking freund, if I remember correctly just go to the "needed stuff" thread and ask for your thread to be stickied. And viel dank to the Norwegian Ethnic Group for first initiating the idea of national identities in Phoenatica. Good luck on getting your thread back up.
 
OK, people, not to rush it but it seems we had better hurry up and decide on a city name. Stuck_As_a_Mac has so graciously offered to rename a city in his new province, so lets make it happen. What we have listed now if going on a poll, if anyone has any last minute ideas put 'em down before I post the poll on 7/30. Stuck, if you can get us a list of cities in your province, I'll post that in a second poll. Otherwise, we'll get a name first and pick a city later. Danke, mein freunds.

Norwegian Ethnic Group?...You know, that does sound kinda familiar....
 
Well, OK. As far as names go....I like Munchen (Munich to Germans). It's kind of a Cultural Center in its own right.

What I ment by this was simply that not only had our citizen groups practicly the same name (Which I was actually a bit flattered by :)) but the course of the discussion within your group and your goals were similar to ours.

I just thought it was a bit funny/odd. I did not mean to cause near-hate feelings towards the germans.
 
I think everybody took your post in the way you intended, Homie. You're certainly not responsible for the actions of the inflamatory posters here or in the Norwegian thread. Although it's very nice of you to try to mitigate the damage. :)
