I find time for posts in bursts followed by long pauses.
I don't see much activity when I lurk here lately, so I opted to fill the void.
First off, let me say that I feel the Normal map is the most fun, and let me also say that this is the map, where playing to history is the most capable.
That said, playing as the Germanic tribes, one needs to get in the right mindset. Picture hordes of blood thirsty barbarians bent on expansion to the East and the West. The Germanic tribes faught many wars with the Celtic tribes (Gauls). Dacians and Gauls will provide some easy fauder early on, but it is the Romans, who will challenge you the most. Over-expansion is a serious challenge also. Be prepared for WAR and lots of it.
I love to play civs positioned to counter the historical expansion of the Romans, Greeks, and Egyptian powers.
Tonight, I will post the map that I used and I plan to play a while and post in segments here to spur some conversation
I just wish I were already playing....
So, I leave you for now, thirsting to view the enemies I will lay at my feet and the lamentations of the women
"Houooot!" (That's what I invision the German hordes screaming from the foggy forests as they decend on the lush lands of proto-Romania, Thrace, the Loir and Rhone valleys, and Rome herself!)
Stay tuned
