Getting rid of corruption

A few questions regarding corruption. (Civ3 vanilla)

I used civ3edit to alter corruption, I set it to 0% , but I still have to cope with unrealistic levels of corruption. Well, not entirely unrealistic, but in a way. So is there a way to remove all corruption, and not just make it lower? And is there some kind of a cheat to be able to build a second forbidden palace?

Are you running patched to v1.29f? Corruption was tweaked several times during the run of Vanilla, Civ3, and after about v1.17f, it was generally managable. v1.29f has very-easily managed corruption.

ANd being able to build the FP is based on the OCN for the map you are playing - "Optimal City Number". You can build the FP when you have built half that many cities.

Also note that the corruption slider settings in the editor apply to the (chosen) specific level; maybe you set corruption to 0% only for the chieftain difficulty, but then you played that scenario on another level, resulting in default corruption settings.

In the editor I also adjust the Corruption and Waste under Governments. I find some corruption and waste to be appropriate, so I usually make my editor tweaks gently. Remember that some changes will give the AI a real advantage.

I know people who stopped playing Civ since Civ3 because of the corruption levels. I was sure it was a bug at first when I got the game. Now I find it natural.
If you should remove all corruption you wouldn't be playing civ3 anymore.

I gotta agree, if you take out corruption it just makes the game easier.

Corruption is one more thing on your long list of problems to solve as you take over the world.

I like corruption. Just imagine it's a very effective mafia operating in your cities.
