Can I ever get rid of the agreement, or am I stuck with continual wars because of the lameass country I agreed with?

Like any diplomatic agreement, it can be cancelled peacefully after 20 turns.

Just go into the diplo screen, and click on 'active' at the bottom. If there is no number in parantheses next to the agreement, then you can click on it and cancel it.

I won't bother telling you how slippery MPP's can be. ;)

EDIT: Welcome to the forums. :)

Hmm, maybe this is a bug with my version. Haven't been able to find anything about a fix in the patch-readmes though. Under Foreign advisor, there are three options; "Treaties", "Trades" and "Details". Under "Details" there are the current agreements, but there is no way to cancel it. Either it's a bug or I have missed something, although scrutinizing the menus.

Nope, I said the Diplo screen, not the Foreign advisor. Open a dialog with the civ in question, and then at the bottom of the deal screen, you can click the word 'active'. The deal can be canceled from there.

You have to be talking to the other civ, and be at the "offer a deal" screen, then do what SesnOfWthr said.
