Ghost civ

I'm posting here because I have received no help in the mod's thread.
I downloaded a mod called "Neoteric World" and I liked it. So I installed modular civs on it. Some worked, some didn't. One of the ones that did not are the Swahilis and seeing as how they did not work, I uninstalled them. But the game does not think I did - and they keep appearing in my game as an error and making it crash. I have searched all throughout my Civ folders (Mods, expansions, and vanilla) looking for any mentioning of them in the files with no avail. I've even gone to the point of uninstalling the entire mod and reinstalling, yet they still keep popping up.

Which release of C4 do you have? I'd say uninstall it completly, verify that really everything is gone (install location, default is somewhere under $programs/<some company name>/sid meiers civ..., and also all the files under My Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword.

I doubt the mod installer would store some info about a civ in the registry, so i don't think you have to worry about that. Although one issue you have to look out for is the civ4 uninstaller/installer sometimes messes up (or more likeley, someone doesn't use correct add-remove-programs method but instead deletes files manually), and then when there are some leftovers keys in the registry so that neither the normal install/uninstall works automatically. In that case you'd have to delete that keys, search the forums if you run into that.
