Does anyone know how to change bmps to pcxs using gimp?

Whenever I paste a bmp into gimp, and try to save as pcx, it gives me a message about pcx's not handeling transperancys, and says I should "export" it first.
I click export, but when I try to load the storyboard in flicster it doesn't reconize it. :( Any advice would be most gratefuly accepted. :)

Open the file with gimp, then save-as.

I have tried that, but haven't seem to get it to work, I will try again.

When it asks you to export, just click yes (I think).
It jsut means it merges everything.

Thank you, I have tried that, but when I go to remerge the flc. it doesm't reconize the pcx!

I did get it to work once, but forgot how I did it. :(

Does anyone know how do I manage layers? I am working on a map and I would like it to consisit of several layers. The trouble is, I cannot make upper levels transparent so that I could see the physical map on level one. Could anyone help?

When you create a new layer select the fill type as transparency. You can then change how the layers are applied to each other using the mode drop down menu. If you've already done your layout and it ain't transparent, and don't want to cut n paste to a new layer then add an alpha channel, then use the colour select tool to select the background that should be transparent and then erase it.

There is also an eye icon next to each layer that switches the entire layer on or off - very useful.

I knew it was something very easy! :D Thank you!
