Give bad advice.

Always run horses straight at Spears and never leave your archers defended. Instead put them straight in front of the charging infantymen

your troops will fight hardest not to die when surounded

Never thought of that, because Elephants have never really been a bother to me.
_____

Only use phalangites against elephants. Watch Alexander and be convinced.

Phalanx are great but what if your enemy pins down your phalanx with his own phalanx and flanks your entire line with 3 armoured elephants lets say from left to right and then finishes you off with a cavalry charge?

You must face a human player playing armd eles like carthage and then you´ll see that eles can really bother you....:D, size does matter on the battlefield..

Back on topic:

Only use screeching women, the enemy soldies will just stand there enjoying the looks and get killed before knowing it ;)

Off-topic:
The phalangites tip was on-topic. :p

Armored Elephants may be good, but they can be easily taken care of by javelins (only in RTR?) and flaming arrows.

Roads enable the neemy to travel quickly. ALways destroy them.

When your city is being siged, destroy all improvements immediately, the neemy will then realize the city has no value and go away.

You could probably mod it so you could though.

You actually take this advice into consideration and lose an entire day modding rome to destroy roads and when you finally achive it you start a campaign with numidia and just dont build any roads at all leaving you with no roads to destroy using your precious 24h wasted modding program now useless.
