I guess you'll be able to buy the drm free versions of games from gog but still connect to steam users. Pretty sweet, good step in the right drm-free direction.

This is a natural and positive move by GOG. I wonder whether they will host servers and stuff for old games you can play online. Im thinking of titles like total annihilation, Duke Nukem, Heroes of Might & magic etc. that would be an interesting development and might actually rekindle some of these titles in the online world. Most of these games required a dedicated online group of players in order to keep the game alive, many of which have fallen by the wayside. For a commercial company to offer the same thing, it could make it easier for them to stay in the picture.

You have to love GOG. It is everything that EA isnt.
