Gold earn for wide strategy

In one of my last games i try play wide and find a bit usefull GOLD strategy in midgame (turns 40-80).

For what i need a lot of gold, if i gonna play wide:
1) 640g - Buy colonists, not build them;
2) 270g - Buy trade deports when outpost become city for immediately start TR;
3) 700g - Buy autoplants when outpost become city for immediately start TR.


A lot of gold? Really a lot for the midgame and wide strategy. Im start thinking and i find to solve 2 problems.

1) Find "Gold Mine".
2) Make that "Gold Mine" works for me.


1. Quest guide - "Find Gold Mine"

ASAP i make good relationship with 3 AI's, who a the farest and don't whine if u place new cities, explore ruins or kill aliens around. From friendly AI u can earn:

- 1 favor for a cost of 3 gpt
- 1 favor for a cost of 1 science per turn
- 1 favor for a cost of 2 strategic resources
- 50 gold for a cost of open borders
- 100 gold for a cost of selling back 1 favor

So the real problem is help friendly AI reach huge GPT numbers by trading my gpt for his favors and then just selling back favors for gold. It's what i call "Make gold mine works for me".

2. Quest guide - "Make gold mine works for me".

Each turn i check friendly AI and if some of them have 100 or more gold, im change my 3 gpt for 1 they favor and immediately sell it back for 100 gold. With each turn im become richer and richer and AI's gpt grows like snowball.

How i keep my income positive?

I choose 3 "non-friendly" AI's, who are the closest to me and whine all time i do a step (omg, idiotic rule from gamedevs) and trade all they free gold for my GPT (someitmes, before trade i change all my citie to "produce" gold) and right after trade i declare a war to them. All my GPT return back, so i repeat it with all 3 AI's in one turn, but all they gold belongs to my treasury (Bwuauahahagaga free, freeee gold).

AI very stupid and at turn 50-60 have no really strong army. Also, AI think if i have much more points in leaderboard, im stronger. And after next 10-15 turns of "war" i offer peace to AI in exchange of HUGE reward for me like ~20-30 gold per turn. After 15 turns of peace im repeat this theatre with each of that 3 AI's.

Also, im use 2 EXTERNAL roads from each new city to fill my GPT.
Also, i try place new city near resources i can trade for favors!

Im solve all my problems with this gold strategy and don't build any colonist, trade deports or autoplants in my 3rd and next city.

Don't your "friendly" AIs hate you after you declare war once or twice? In my experience, unless I have a DoF with them, I will almost always get the warmongering penalty when I attack someone else.

By the way, you can also sell 1 science per turn for a favor if you have a DoF

Im really become fan of science, so never trade it - but ty, i add it into first post :D

Main question. Yes, they hate me if we have no DOF. How i got DOF with "friendly" AI?

Im find that if u trade with AI - u have a chance that that AI offer u DOF. Im test it and make 50 reloads after few turns after trade. AI offer me DOF 5 or more times during it (it's like building quest lol).

And sometimes if u make 1 DOF, some leaders tell that "we see u make DOF with blablabla, we like it" and after few turns they offer DOF to u. Like a chain reaction.

So i don't see a problem there. For me diplomacy screen always like in attachment
