Using a Privateer or Viking Long ship to Pop a goody hut, does not trigger Era Points for entering a friendly village.

The Tribal Village Contacted historic moment only applies during the Ancient Era. In the civilopedia it lists the min/max era under requirements for each moment. It appears to be working fine for me in the Ancient Era.
