I'm so sick and tired of the MSN version of Messenger (and I'll never ever use Windows Mess.) I've heard that it's a Yahoo version and AOL version, but are these for free? I would like to keep my hotmail address..

AIM (Aol Instant Messenger) is free.

When you say "would like to keep my hotmail address" do you mean you dont want to get a new email address or that you want to keep the @hotmail thing for whatever new Instant Message program you get?
cause if its the latter one, you're out of luck.
if its the former then there's no reason to get rid of your email address to get AIM. it dont even come with an email account, so no confusion that way.

Yes they are free and so is ICQ. Whats your problem with MSN messenger? None of the IM programs are all that different in my opinion and I have never has any problems with them. If its the software you don't like you could always download trillian and keep the existing account.

Well, I guess there's no problem with MSN, but I've just got sick and tired of MSN... I didn't know there was other mess. programs...

I recommend trillian. You can chat on ICQ, MSN, Yahoo!, IRC, and AIM.

www.trillian.cc

Cool trillian. I will try that one.

What about Google Talk? That is a promising program. I've downloaded but none of my friends use it.

It's rather lacking at the moment. No group talk no and no smiley for starters. However it does allow for VOIP.

I know many people who use google talk.

I use googletalk, mostly just for the e-mail notifier though

Its not god of IM, yet. ;)

I meant god period. Not just of IM. See the people who belive in god say he is all knowing and google is all knowing(at least it will be completely in 300 years) ergo google is god.
