I'm looking forward to play it, #121 is getting a little monotonous in the end, but I'm almost through with it.

The ressource seed on this one is 59 by my estimation but I would suggest to await Ali's verification about this. ;) OCC would be a nice option, especially since we don't have a second city set up by 200 BC, but I guess I'll go for a normal game.

As Major Advantage correctly pointed out, the resource seed is 59. The starting location is 2-special with the other special being a fish hidden under grass.

There are no close good sites for a SSC. If we could up root the city, which I would not for a city this size with improvements, one location north would have been a good 4 special site. For those who want to win by space ship, the current location is the best bet for SSC.

Playing the purple civ is also a plus for space ship since we will be our own key civ soon enough.

The starting location has ocean access, so OCC is doable but the units and improvements are not what you need for an OCC.

When I was active with bridge (the card game) some of the best discussions were around so-called "cardiac" problems. Someone else had been playing a hand but had been unlucky enough to suffer a cardiac arrest, requiring you to takeover midway through. You would not have done what has been done so far but that is no matter, how do you make the best of the situation?

So I think great idea to use accelerated startup for this GotM - I'm enjoying it.

This looks of interest, maybe a sorta quick game? I try it starting tomorrow when the parent unit's boot is off my neck.

Due to lack of time, I had to play this one as OCC. But I ran into a problem when playing. In my game, the French founded, very early on, an outpost very close to my capital. I took exception, because it made me very uncomfortable (in the BC years), but I did not remembered about the one-city-only rule. What ended up happening was me, razing a size 1 city and plundering 17g. My question is: The OCC rules clearly state that we can't have a 2nd city at any time, but what is the definition of ''having'' the city if the city is destroyed when taken? When you don't get any actual city-related advantages of ''having'' one (production and such) because it was destroyed when stormed, does it count as a 2nd city in the OCC? Or do I have to go to the beginning-of-the-turn save (if that's allowed) and raze it to the ground without taking it? I do expect to discard the 17g plundered if the first option is allowed.

Once again Starlifter wins by a long shot. The difference between 1st and 2nd place scores is 3 times the difference between 2nd and 3rd place ones.

It's great to see so many people sending in for this game - although it does nothing to lessen the workload of our moderator, to whom I'm sure we all send our thanks.

As most will have seen, the spoiler includes starlifter's detailed logs and commentary on maximising GotM score.

Were there 2 strong players in this GOTM trying for Gold ? ;)

I was trying for score at least, but I wouldn't call myself a strong player. ;)
Furthermore, I think that was my first not-OCC game at deity, so I am quite pleased to
- end up in the top half of GOTM-score
- 3rd in game-score
- accomplished 2nd earliest landing.
