Ancient ages

At a first glance, settling SE gives a higher number of workable tiles, so i decide to settle there. The worker roads the game forest, then chops SW. Research is set on Pottery at max, to use the temple as a prebuild for granary. I manage to get a useful prebuild by putting the active tile on the unworked gold mountain. The build order of Entremont is granary -> warrior -> settler -> warrior -> temple. Then Entremont builds wonders and nothing else for the whole ancient age.

Research doesn't go straight for Maps, but Bronze, Masonry and Mysticism are studied first. Delaying Maps was necessary to build Colossus and Oracle ASAP, and to have a prebuild for the Great Library.

At the 1000BC mark the Keltoi nation is made of only 3 cities, but the culture of Entremont is already skyrocketing. The 2 other cities are founded at RCP 3, southeast and north of the capital. City 4 is founded later on the iron hill.

Once studied Maps, galleys are sent to explore east and southwest, following the coastline of the main continent. Contact with Rome is finally made in 750BC. Slowly we get the remaining contacts, a decent world map and a few key techs (Iron, Wheel, Poly). Meanwhile, Literature is researched and production in Entremont is turned to Great Library, as planned. At this point research is completely stopped.

Literature is kept to avoid a wonder cascade to Great Library. Luckily, no one seems interested in researching it and the plan succeeds: Egypt completes Pyramids with Literature still unknown and the only cascade goes to Great Wall, giving the opportunity for Entremont to complete the Great Library undisturbed. Literature is sold for complete maps and a relevant amount of money,.

Meanwhile, a few cities are founded on the mainland, to secure furs and dyes. Embassies are established, loans are taken to discourage wars and exploration continues. In 270BC the Great Library is finally complete and we get Math, Philo, Construction, Code of Laws and Horse Riding. Entremont builds an aqueduct as fast as possible, then some workers are tossed into the city to maximize production. In 170BC Currency and Monarchy are learned, and the middle ages are reached. We revolt immediately to Monarchy, then gift all the backwards civs into the Medievals.

Middle ages

We complete Hanging Gardens in 130AD, beating Egypt for a handful of turns. Library, cathedral and colosseum are quickly built. A market and a harbor follows. When Republic is mastered, in 260 AD, we revolt again and resume research at full steam toward Theology. The Great Lighthouse is used as prebuild, the tech is mastered in time and production turns to Sistine. Research goes to Education, Astronomy and Music Theory. After Sistine is complete we declare the 1st war of Keltoi history, versus the Iroquois. Golden age starts, and after a dozen of elite victories a leader finally emerges. Despite being the superpower of the world, the Iroquois weren't a serious issue. Peace is signed before the gross of their troops can be layed on the battlefield.

Thanks to the GA and the leader, we quickly build a university, then take over all the Medieval wonders except for Sun Tzu and Leo's. A pair of short wars are fought for another leader fishing, this time with no luck. The AS are of some help in researching the lower branch. In 1305, we're in the Industrials. Too bad the leader scarcity didn't allow us to build quickly a Forbidden Palace in the continent. When the 2nd leader pops up, it's too late to use it for that purpose. Better keep it to build an expensive industrial wonder later.

Industrial ages

Little to report here. The tech advantage is enough to build all the industrial wonders with no competition. A pair of short wars are fought, and finally the 3nd leader of the game pops up. This time we form an army and send it immediately to an easy victory, so to build Heroic Epic and Military Academy. Without a 2nd core the research rate isn't fast enough to make it into the Modern Ages. 20k is reached while researching the last industrial tech.

20k victory in 1802 AD. Firaxis: 1467. Jason: 3979.
