The GOTM page has been updated. This is because of the GOTM scoring system.
Check it out: http://www.civfanatics.com/civ2gotm.shtml .

very nice!!!

Hey did you guys just skip the top three scoring and the top three fastest games???
Damn I had hoped that we would get all three!!! I defiantly think that it would be better to have them all, that way we can compete with each other on different levels!!!
I know that I was going to challenge Stormerne to see who could get the best position in the high score part in GotM#2!!!
If it's because you don't have anyone to do it then I would be happy to do it - I just don't have any experience with web pages at all - but I could make a excel document an send to some one who could do it for me!!!

Ups just saw that they are all there - I just have one question, what defines your rank?? Is it your speed, your score or you GotM score??

The GOTM score defines the ranking. I admit it's slightly unfair, because you didn't know this from the start and you specificly played on till the last turn. But that didn't have disasterous effects

. I will also make a special ranking for highest score and fastest finish, since this is more original and less subjective. But again, the main ranking is defined by the GOTM score.

And because I make all the calculations in Excel I can easily release that file as well. But Thunderfall and I agreed to give you all some statistics in HTML as well, so it'll be viewable to everyone.

Good... everyone should be happy now.

hmmm...i'm not sure what i think about that. You see, I was playing for quickest win, and wasn't concerned with civ score at all...I was trying to keep my cities smaller, and just worked on mass producing units...this is a little post facto

Sorry Kaak - but you know, we all didn't know about this new ranking system until now!!
I played only to get a high score and therefore waited until 2019 to finish my game, so your not alone.

But then again this is only the test month.

don't worry, Kaak. Matrix can create 3 ranking lists each based on different things (score, rating, GOTM). It takes only a few clicks to sort the list differently in Excel.

Is this a competition?
or something to do every month?
or both?
or neither?

I could have spent many turns racking up points but no thanks.Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.....

Every month there's a new competition

. But I will keep everyones scores of every monthly game and do 'funny things' with it. Ofcourse there will be an overall score of how much GOTM's you have won. Only I think I'll exclude this first game, since it was a betagame.

To answer your question: it is both.
