Hi everyone,

I have Civ 3 Complete, (Firaxix Games) and have been playing a few months and LOVE the game. I want to start trying my hand at the GOTMs.
I downloaded the latest patches for Civ 3, PTW, and Conquests. Great, no prob. Installed.
I then downloaded the GOTM start file. The file is on my desktop. (WinXP) What do I do with the file from there? Where and how do I put it? I know this GOTM has to be played from Play The World.
I don't have much experience moving files around and so some step-by-step help would really be appreciated.
THANX!

You just need to load it like any other save file. When its on the desktop, it can be hard to find from the in-game "load save" menu. Therefore, put it in a location where you can find it (eg. C:\games\ or c:\program files\Sid Meier's civilization 3\PTW\saves\ ). Then start Play The world, and choose "load game" from the menu.

BTW - the GOTM (starting on the 15th of each month) requires Play The World. The COTM (starting on the first of each month) requires Conquests.

Thank You!

I had to open up the Civ 3 Complete program file, and then find the PTW expansion, and pasted the file into Saved Games. It looks like it will work, I haven't loaded the game yet but it showes up as a .sav file when I click on "load game".

A few things I found out along the way. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) If you have Civ 3 Complete edition you don't need or want to download any patches. I had problems starting PTW after I downloaded the patches. I got an "insert cd" error when the cd was in the drive. I uninstalled the game and re-installed it patch-less and it fixed the problem.

Also, if you want to run PTW or Conquests from the Civ 3 Complete, you have to open the program and files and find the application file to run the game you want. It's called Civ3X for PTW. Just starting the game from the opening screen won't give you an option for a PTW game.

Again, thanks for the help!:goodjob:
