  3. AS ALWAYS, do not post Spoiler information for ANY other 'X'OTM contest.

OK. In my Easter, spring break, tax frenzy I didn't get these spoilers out! (And the frenzy continues ...) So, Regent level. Any issues with the starting location, or did you establish your capital as is? Initial development plans (if you remember them) and did they go well? Did any of the AI on your starting landmass give you any problems? How do things look going into the MA?

Wow, I'm rusty. Settling 1NW, this looks like the strongest 20k situation I've seen in a long time, and I've really made a mess of it. I went for the Colossus and early golden age, but wish I hadn't, not least because the Oracle went to the other continent long before I could get to it; maybe that means Oracle and Pyramids were mutually exclusive though...

QSC stats
1 city, 2 towns, 15 pop, 48 tiles.
28 food, 68 shields, 75g.
Pyramids, Colossus, 3 granaries, 1 temple.
1 settler, 4 workers, 3 axes (reg).
Bronze, Iron, Masonry, Alphabet, Writing, Philosophy, Laws, Literature, Pots, War Code, Burial, Mysticism.
2 contacts, no embassies.

I flip to Republic in 650bc, finish Glib in 530bc, which brings in Wheel, Mapping and Polytheism. Just Construction and Currency left to research, and Riding to buy from the Greeks; I reach the medieval in 370bc.
Rings were at RCP3 (3 towns), 5 (5) and 8 (5), which feels a little bit tight.

Didnt go for a 20K but reached middle ages in a simular time to PB, not sure I will get game finished as havent had too much time to play.

Just started playing last night and got to the Middle Ages. After some of the recent discussions on the board I decided to go with Predator, which is the first time I've done that in the competition. Only have the contacts on my continent. Bit of a slow start and I have been rushing the game so I'm playing real sloppy. Going for the UN or Space, whichever seems like I can finish in time to submit.

No AA warfare and barbs have been a pushover. Even the uprising was easy. I settled in place since I couldn't see a reason to move. RCP4/7/11 for core. Looks like Greece is setting up at RCP 5/8 so that will work if I make Athens my second core. Nearby luxuries are nice but not enough variety. The AI on the other island must be having a party with the rest.

No despotic GA. Going to use Colossus to trigger my GA to push through the early Middle Ages. So far AI has been okay with trading. Looks like Arabia is already out of the game - they still only have a handful of cities - but Greece is doing alright. Figures they would be a close neighbor!

Settling 1NW, this looks like the strongest 20k situation I've seen in a long time[...] I reach the medieval in 370bc.

In these facts we were similar. My builds:

3400 BC Build Temple
1675 BC Build Library
_875 BC Build The Great Library
_630 BC Build The Colossus
_630 BC Enter Golden Age
_550 BC Build Colosseum
_370 BC Build The Great Lighthouse
_370 BC Enter Middle Ages

The Golden Age was under Republic and at size 12. The Ottomans snatched The Pyramids while I was building High Culture.
