I only vaugely know of the Philibuster award, could you tell me more information and specific info on it?
Ahh...it's nice to see my name there.
I stuck it out even though I wanted to give up on the monarch difficulty. It is not good to be weak...
I tried to submit but got the same error as above, so I use email instead. I hope one of them will get through.

Bamspeedy, I got it. I am not sure what the error you guys were getting, but it did go through for some of you it went through as many as 5 times 
Moonsinger yours went through as well.

I submitted my game through both the web-based submission form and via email (gotm_submit@civfanatics.com) on 1/20, but my name still doesn't appear on the most recent games submitted list.
I tried submitting again through the web today (1/23) and got the same error messages as last time about socket problems and not being able to connect to the appropriate IP address.
This is my first crack at GOTM, so my apologies if I'm missing something simple here. But how do I submit!

I got the submission you sent in today. There was some ssort of a problem on the 20th which is why your game did not go through the first time. I will try to look into this socket error problem you are getting today, but on the plus side the information is getting through.

Great, thanks Creepster. I had a great time playing the game this month and following the progress of others in the forum. This re-send let me conform to your new save file naming conventions anyway.

Thanks for the update Creepster. I'm glad it finally got through. Being my first GOTM and all, I was anxiously waiting my name to appear on the list.

I submitted twice through the form and probably sent it twice through email. The system that MSN uses is really stupid; sometimes I'll send an email to say that it hasn't been sent. I'll send it again to see that I've sent the same mail twice...

I think the upload problem occurs with older versions of IE--before 5.5 I think. (Maybe 5.0 works, though.) The upload works but you'll ALWAYS get a message saying it failed! It's just a browser issue...

Well, so much for THAT theory! <g>
I had a problem at work where v 5.04 would always generate an error message on an upload so I had to upgrade.
I can't remember what that error was so you could tell when it was that spurious error as opposed to when there was an actual failure to upload...(Which may be why there were reports of two different error messages.)

We are looking into the error message. The good news is that your submissions are coming through despite the error message, so keep sending them in.
We are up to 95 received submissions so far this month!!! It is going to be a fierce battle for all awards with this many submissions.

Maybe the site form page needs to be updated to reflect that. Any normal person would be nerve-racked to see this error message and would probably submit it ten million times...or put it as a sticky on the forums highlighting the problem.

hbdragon88, this type of posting pattern is just spam and really should be in a PM instead of constantly cluttreing up the message threads with one-liner type posts that do not help us manage issues, forward the progress of discussion, or better understand the needs of the people around us. Try to focus on the issues and purposes of the discussion threads whenever possible.
The submission deadline question has already been asked and answered on several ocassions in the past few weeks.
I already submitted but am curious to what hour exactly...
