I enjoyed it. Added a lot of flavor to the game, esp. with the barbarians and germans to the North already being Roman-themed. Felt like more than just a random civ selection or even one picked for certain criteria, but like an actual scenario. Helped me get into the game.

I would echo the annoyance over the luxuries (improvements had the pictures so that wasn't hard) at first, then I just wrote them down and kept my notes handy and it was fine from then out.

Celts are the next GOTM, right? Hmm, wonder if the Celts would have even as many improvements named as the Romans...

Replacing 'Sir' (your title during anarchy) by something civ-specific would be a nice element to keep, like the squid.
I'm sure I'm not the first to come up with that idea. ;)

The Latin names presented quite a difficulty to me. When the domestic advisor would tell that I finished something and if I wanted to build (something) and I would have to be foced to open up the city display and see the graphic - and there I'd make the decision.

Also when trading, I found myself frequently right-clicking on the lux/resource to see what it was. When the AI would offer deals straight up, I couldn't take them - I had to go into the table, take the objects off, see what they were, and then either put them back on or reject the deal.

That's what I get for trying to be clever. I did not name any of my cities based on the default list, so I completely missed the special city names. Oh well.

I enjoyed the Latin names. Guess I didn't completely waste those 3 years of latin in high school.
