Are we getting an announcement of why the scoring table has been altered or do we start burning innocent old ladies like last month? Not that it wasnt fun but I'm all out of firewood.

The calculator will be updated with the release of 'end game submitted' spoiler thread. Should be about the 15th of the month.

Eventually a process to update it automatically will be in place, to circumvent spoiling those on the staff who may also be playing. Then the score can be calculated right when the player submits.

To what are you refering?

If it means what I think it does... There was a slight edit of the results table to accomodate a player who had requested his submission not be included. I had forgot about the request when putting the results into the database.

I am wondering why my game didnt show up as the mac version and why my game time was listed as 0:00:00? Is it because I sent in an autosave? It is hard to catch that last turn before getting knocked out.

I had also asked for my score not to be recorded for this GoTM Aeson. As a self-imposed punishment for mouthing off in QSC 19.
I still get the feeling that a couple of people are upset about it, so much so that they didnt finish their games.
Anyway i have a selfish reason for wanting it taken off. That being I bottled out of the farmers gambit I was using during the game and turtled up- I later replayed it from the point I lost my nerve in the real game and saw what I could have achieved I'd rather not have it around as a monument to my cowardice.
In the end you have a better perspective on what went on than I do and I may be misreading the situation so I will leave it up to you whether or not you take it off.

There currently isn't an easy way to check whether a save was Mac or PC 1.29f, as the saves are exactly the same I think. (if anyone knows a difference, please tell!) I'll change your version to Mac. The new submission form will clear up the version problems as long as submissions are entered correctly.

1.29f saves don't include the time played. That's a feature that was added in PtW.

I actually had a pretty good idea of what had happened as I had followed the bun-fight between this player and the GoTM staff.
I felt that you needed to clarify what had actually happened though for people who had not been following events but had noticed that they had jumped a place in the rankings. In case they got the wrong idea.

And special congratulations to Qitai and DaveMcW - you both played truly outstanding games.

I take off my hat for the top-players and their amazing scores and early victories. Just watch out tho, I'm reading your timelines!

My own improvement was from 171 in gotm19 to 28 in gotm20 and I had my sight to be in top 50. Two very different games and I still have problems to get out of my building-style. But that will come and your timelines will come in handy to learn new stuff.

But as someone said, everyone can play a good game or two...but the really talented players will always stay in the top, no matter what kind of game or handicaps they get. And I won't qualify in that category.

congrats to all the top5-players, especially to Quitai and DaveMcW...great games Kemal's game was outstanding, too -I'm surprised he did not score higher.

Mazarin - first joined us in Gotm15-Russia at 146th position but has actively played in the past two games at a much improved level. Will he share with us what he has done to make the great improvement?

gotm15 was not really comparable because I played it as an OCC due to lack of time
the main difference between gotm19 and 20 was the fact that I took a more offensive approach -which was not necessary for winning but helped a lot with the ingame score.

Somehow I was forgotten . It’s great disappointment to watch on results list and see that your 50 hours of play in last month goes for nothing . Anyway congratulations to all winners and especially to those who didn’t choose warmongers path of victory :soldier: (that’s because I personally don’t like CIV becoming Warcraft style game with main target of who builds the biggest army in a shortest time). In this game I razed almost everyone and felt too lonely on such big map.

Well, I did not finish next to last this month(I did the last 2 months). 172 out of 185, woohoo,...lol.

Congrats to all you great civvers out there. Maybe one day I will get a victory, I really did have a poor start this month, ya know bad choices and just stupid mistakes, I don't even know that I will finish this month.

But hey, I will keep submitting and playing, Its all for fun anyway and I really enjoy the gotm's, even if I do get my (insert body part here) kicked

for grins, i'll share the fact that i don't use PTW for exactly this reason. if i ever quantified my GOTM time, i'd have to own up to it. GOTM is really a guilty pleasure!
