GOTM21 Stats

An astonishing 93% victories out of the second-highest 218 total submissions... (the 219th, mine , lost due to my clumsiness...).

The choice of victory conditions is clearly biased by the Medal Play Series (even though Space Race would probably have been the most selected anyway)

The score and finish date distributions, for all of us (ehm, of you...) to see where we fall in the general picture.

Hergrom's lone Conquest victory really stands out. A good call -and a good game!

ControlFreak, I remembered your suggestion to order the victory conditions a minute after saving the jpeg files... next time...

Starting with GOTM17, the first one with the Jason scoring system, this is the evolution of victory ratio, score and finish date.

I am a bit relieved at seeing that the seeming tendency towards ever increasing scores has come to an end... Now I'd only need to play a really good game

There had been a request for some individual statistics, which was quite clearly dropped as a result of my not doing anything about it...

Surprise! I did something: I put together a table with the number of games played (fom GOTM16 on), victories, type of victory, best score, best placement and so on for each GOTM21 submission.
Won't be the end of the world, but hey, always better than getting a screwdriver into one's eyes...

I couldn't find a way to split it into a reasonable number of reasonably-sized pictures, so
here is a big (Excel) table with the data.

It is a sort of an experiment, so I will change it (or kill it) depending on your collective responses and suggestions.

And, of course, the Turns Per Session plots... What would we do without them? ;p

This is the distribution for the last GOTM, and the 'historical' plot. You will note that the average is somewhat lower than the previous ones, but the deviation is so high that it is almost pointless to spend too much time on it (Just for information, the average TpS went:31, 31, 29, 39, 31, 25 from GOTM16 to 21).

How did you order the table? is it a simple case of highest average score?
Great table btw... it illustrates things better for me than looking at each results page separately... hopefully I'll be able to get more wins than losses soon!

As always, you did fantastic work to get us these stats!

Comparing my scores and finish dates to the leaders is quite disheartening, but your graphs showing that the majority of people have much more average performance give me hope to try again each month. The spreadsheet of individual performances is also very good to have, I hope you will continue it.

BTW I changed userids between GOTM20 and 21. If you get a chance and you continue producing the individual spreadsheet, please combine the results from d8575 (20 and before) with DaveShack (21 and after). Thanks

@Mabellino: the table replicates the order of the GOTM results table (i.e., decreasing Jason). Maybe I should have pointed it out more clearly.

@DaveShack: ok, I'll update the table.

In fact, my idea is that future versions would always be based on the GOTM results list, assuming that only those who submitted the last GOTM will be interested in an update of their stats.
I am collecting all data, so it is in principle possible to always update the entire list, but that would become very long and probably full of useless data.

As always, feedback -in this respect as well as regarding the table parameters- is warmly welcome
