question: i updated to 1.27f will i still be able to play this gotm?

No NewDestroyer, you will never be able to play a decent game of CIV ever again.

Hopefully we will have large pangea map this time, I'm quite seasick after the last couple of games.
No fancy start position to create settler factories and the race begin to find those precious luxuries and recourses. Opponents will be Rome and Greece of course, mixed in with Persia, Babylon and Zulu and we will have to trigger their Golden ages early
A lighter game on monarch this time with the scientific nations mentioned above will make the tech pace decent enough...and if trading won't do, the Ansar warrior will find what we want and need. And if we get a "lighter" lever, perhaps cracker will provide us with raging barbs just to make it fun?
I never played Arabia, does the Ansar warrior knight have 3 movement points? And what is the difference in cost compared to the normal knight? I don't have CIV on this computer or I would have checked that myself
Religious is a great trait and the UU will make this a great game, I think. As other people guessed Diplo should be the winning concept.

They are 4-2-3s and cost 60 shields (knights cost 70).

Don't think so, cracker's very strict about the games starting on the first day of the month...

I would say that this GOTM will be a regent or Monarch game. We have been given months of high difficulty games. So why not regent ?
The starting point would be near to desert but with some oases and rivers (nile ?). Every time I play as the Arabs , there will always be jungle nearby. I hate this and I hope we won`t have this terrain nearby in this game. Landmass would be pangea and climate would be dry, arid and warm environment.
Opponents would be Babylon, Persian, Rome, Egypt, Mongol, Greek and ....
The Arabs are religious and expansionists, so beware if you want to build Colossus because you will always get your golden age after finishing it.

from Europe: Rome & Greece, later Spain & Vikings!
from Asia: India, China
maybe on edges of Pangea we will find Korea & Russia
to include America as suggested by others looks to far fetched for me!
Difficulty:
last games were ok for me (play since GOTM18), I prefer higher difficulty levels.
Early Strat:
probably some early wars to get some nice land & resources
Victory type:
as Cracker's normally gives us a challenge, I guess diplomatic! How to get nice land in a diplomatic way!

killerloop what are u talking about? u can win any gotm any way u want too.
He's talking about the Medal Play series. If you submit your GOTM game with a win via the proscribed victory condition then it will automatically be eligible for the Medal Play series. You might want to look at the Sticky: The Expanded Medal Play Series of GOTM thread.

You can play Game 5-4 and Submit by the 15th. I think GOTM23 is also for this tournament (counts as 5-5) and there should be one more mid month in September (5-6). You only need three submits.
Are you talking about the 5-4 Babylon game that's in progress at the moment? Apparently the submission deadline is September 15th. Just go to the 5-4 - Babylon link from the main gotm page.

You're dead on with the english & french history, however, the GOTM's I played never get into these kind of modern ages, that's why I didn't want to mention them. For the same reason I made the comment about the Americans.....

I am for a limited sized map :same size of map as the recent GOTM because it makes game faster. So it is easier to squeeze the game in lunch break / late nights.....
I would not mind to have a diplo victory for a change and I am still wondering how I could achieve this. Any attempt made was a failure I had to go after Domination / Spaceship ... Maybe I am too aggressive
