gotta love the RNG sometimes

Been playing a china game on vanilla for a few days.Standard map , diety , 8 civs , pangea.

Had to build heaps of horses early on as I had no iron (knowing I could never upgrade em till cav).

Wiped out two thirds of my neighbour Japan to grab the iron but no leader , so big empire , no FP , 1 lux ,whipped a fair bit early so gotta go monarchy.

Twenty turns later ripped back into Japan but decided to do it without Riders as I did not want a GA as a monarch with no FP.

Two turns B4 wiping them out got a leader who took two goes to reach a suitable city for a FP.....So waited till he rushed it before attacking again

The last city I took with a red lined elite horse verses two hit point archer wiping them out........and bang LEADER on my last chance.

Got him home and checked diplomacy screen...... that turn england discovered invention......bought it and rushed Leo`s

Now I have 26 horses waiting to be upgraded at half price plus any riders I can build now.

But I totally forgot I had stolen hanging gardens from the first war.so when the leader filled the production box I went into anarchy(republic cause I got 2 lux in the second war) and and when it was built GOLDEN AGE.

Now I can bee line for military trad at an obscene rate and hopefully have about 50 cav maybe 10-15 turns before the AI.

Three turns of GA in anarchy but you cant have it all....should be alot of fun tonight....

Have fun with the game and remember the RNG kindness when it´s giving you bad rolls again.

Waiting until the AI has better defenders to attack on purpose - all because of the ! Gotta love that strategy. Though if the game hates you, the AI will probably just never upgrade their Spearmen even when they can and you'll still be facing invincible Spearmen in 5000 AD.

Leader luck is always fun. I got a bit tonight, rushed The Internet with a leader I already had, then attacked with an Elite and got a new leader immediately. Got two in one turn a month or two ago, too. Makes up a bit for when the RNG isn't as kind in resource placement or battle results.

Gotta HATE it now.............same game , own 40% of the land , replaceable parts way b4 the AI. I have 48 muskets and Leo`s , skipped nationalism...No rubber and 40 cav just about to attack Russia..........No rubber there either!!!

What would you guys do now.......would you sell electricity and replacable parts to AI that has surplus rubber.... or should I buy nationalism and upgrade to rifles?? I`m confident of getting a few leaders now cause the majority of cav are elite and I have the heroic epic........I`m concerned that if I sell my tech then TOE is no longer in the bag

Any tips much appreciated

Yeah I've seen the AI with Archers in the Future Age. There's gotta be at least 1 spear rotting under the massive hordes of their cities.

And their damn standing armies . . . declare war and you lose the whole continent. I've lost tanks to Samurai.

Heh I've had multipul games where getting to Philosophy first not only got me a free tech but a SGL. Rush any wonder I want =

And then I've lost like a whole bunch of Cavs attacking non-fortified KNIGHTS... Yeah love RNG =)

Oh, I've lost a Cavalry to a defending ANCIENT Cavalry before. Shows how tough things were back then.

Also, I've exhausted my only supply of iron before.

But then again, I have controlled the ONLY supply of RUBBER before. Only 1 on the whole map. So I watched as my infantry destroyed Stacks of Rifles. And then I watched as the Tech-Superior AI's airstriked the hell out of me.
