Government Preference??

Two questions:

1. I've been playing CivIII for about 5 months and in all of my games, all of the AI seem to end up on Democracy. I thought that some of the Civs abhore democracy. What does the "preferred govenment" mean?

2. Is there a list anywhere of all of the civs and their preferred and hated governments?

You can check the civs govts opening the file "conquests.biq" from your C3C directory with the editor (click on Civ3ConquestsEdit.exe in the same folder and then open the conquests.biq file). Go to Rules -> Edit -> Civs and there you have all of the civs specifications...

Well I have a question of goverment too, I created a goverment called Marxism (just to test), a very good goverment, the cheapest and the fastest, well, I set it "abhore" to all civs except Rome (I always play with Rome), but the civs allways changes to it.

I think the preferred governments only sets the Civ's attitude towards other civ's of that government, not the actual civ themselves.

So, say Rome's preferred government if Republic. They will have a more positive attitude towards other Republic civs, but they themselves may be any government, including the one that they despise.

Kind of silly I know.

I agree with Maverick. In my games, the civs always go to Communism or Fascism, though. I hardly ever see a democratic enemy in the modern or late industrial age.

It's pretty simple. If peaceful conditions, the AI prefers democracy, if war is the day programme, it prefers Communism, or in C3C usually Fascism.

Just a quick answer to the second question, if you don't want to go through all the pains of logging off civfanatics, just check out the CIA, it has all the info you need.
