GPT deals..patch stop them happen?

im not sure, but since conquests tradings changed loads!


no longer get citys in peace deals
never trade citys or even pay for mine
hardly ever get gpt deals

#1 is true for me, I get them. Even if they aren't core cities, you still get them. #2 would never happen. They never sell or buy cities, no matter what. #3 is definately wrong. The AI is always willing to pay gpt. I'm in my late middle ages/early industrial and the AI had 100 gpt to spare. It's a matter of what level you play on and how big your AIs are (plus if they are commercial/seafaring, markets, banks, etc).

it takes a while before the AI starts paying gpt. Usually the don't pay any gpt before at least half way into middle ages. Also do you need a flawless reputation.

#2...could it be you only played completely unpatched Vanilla Civ3 before?
Here, you could get cities in trades.

The other 2 are not true, as already pointed out.

Yep, slozenger, you should start vanilla and check the version. If it says 1.07 on the starting screen, then you left it unpatched. For more than 2 years.

Although I'm not sure if the C3C 1.22 patch (or a sooner C3C patch) updates vanilla as well when installing.

Installing C3C-expansion (1.00) over unpatched vanilla does not work for me, have to first patch vanilla, then intall C3C, then patch C3C.
