Graphic and sound problems with wonder videos, but no crashing

Whenever any wonder video comes up, the graphics will be in a checkerboard screwed up fashion, and the audio will stutter. Also whenever another leader comes up to me the screen for them is totally black, but whenever I go to them it appears normal. What's up with that?

Anyone else have suggestions or have similar problems?

BTW I have an Intel 2.66Ghz w/ 1 Gig of RAM and Radeon 9600 Pro.

Also I've been playing a little bit more and occasionally a leader will come up to me and it won't be black, it'll be normal, and occasionally I'll go up to them and it'll be black.

Help?

I was having a similar problem with the wonder movies, as well as other graphical anomolies occasionally (like horrid flickering in the Civolopedia, with random elements of the map flickering on top of it).

All of these went away when I went to my AGP settings and changed the setting from x8 to OFF. This will slow down other 3d games you play, but has no noticable effect on Civ4's performance, with the exception of fixing the problems I was experiencing.

Thanks, that did it! It still will show a quick flicker at the start of the movie, but quickly goes away (within miliseconds) and plays normal. Thanks!

I dropped my agp to zero and all problems of leaders blank screen and wonder windows being garbled went away. All better now. Thanks for info.
On wonder window my sound drops out and then comes back but I get good video.
I will live with it. hehe
