Graphics Problem

The v5.09 lists your 672 chipset and are from December http://www.sis.com/download/download_step1.php?id=155940. They specify Vista Basic and Premium.

Be sure to follow any recommendations on their site regarding the installation completely. While graphics drivers are an often recommended update, if it's done incorrectly, it can make your computer unstable or unusable.

Let us know if they resolve the issue. Good luck!

I already have these drives and they make no difference with the above mentioned problems unfortunately. :-(

I have the same problem as described above; I take it theres been no solution found since feburary? I'm downloading the recommended SiS driver, so perhaps that will work.

Nope, no change. Tis a shame, It ran fine under XP on my old pc, but the proccessor etc wasn't up to the job. Now i have the necessary hardware, but miailed me. crosoft has failed me! guess i'll just wait for Colonization. Got a freeware version of the original, its pretty good, but i'm still getting the hang of it.

Argh! I have the same problem! Stupid sis mirage 3 for vista!!
Please post here if anyone finds a solution, or finds drivers that actually work!

Bumped :shifty:

Any fix for this problem yet??

<<Blows the dust off the civ4 game just in case...

:help:

Such a shame...My PC was brand new (and so decent spec) with a nivia graphics card (not the crappier standard onboard one), the game was fresh out of the CD case (never been used) and then the strange overlapping shaky graphics -I have never played a civ4 game because of this....
:gripe: :wallbash:

Oh well back to civ3 I guess.......:wavey:

Now, the pictures posted are very small, but artifacts like seen in the images in the OP is normally related to defective hardware. No amount of driver tweaking will solve that - only a hardware replacement.

cant be that as it wont run on Vista in the same laptop that it does run under WinXP......

Basically it comes down to dodgy Vista VGA Sis drivers...still no solution

Sorry for necroposting but i have the same problem. I got a SiS Mirage 3 and Vista. I wonder there is a solution now?

I have the problem too. I did the direct2 drive purchase, and ran had the website run a check to see if my comp is ok, even though it is obviously good, and it gave all green.

Edit mine seems to be related to 2560x1600 res, and maybe the DX 10 or 11....still working on getting those working!
