Hi,
I recently upgraded my graphics card from an Ati HD4850 to an Nvidia GTX560Ti and now many of my in-game graphics settings reset themselves whenever I change them.
Running XP and DX9. Cleaned out all old drivers and reg entries before installing new card.
Annoyingly, I was able to set everything to the highest settings with my 4850, but when I try to do that now, Civ5 resets my changes back to low on some options, whilst retaining high on a few and medium on one.
Now, synthetic benchmarks rate the 560Ti at about 2x as powerful as the 4850, so I'm a bit confused by this behavior.
I have tried editing the settings in the GraphicsSettingsDX9.ini in the "C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXX\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\" folder and still Civ5 refuses to retain my settings.
I may try re-installing Civ5, as that might solve the problem somehow (not sure how) but I'd rather not if possible.
Does anybody know about this problem and/or know a solution for it? I'd appreciate your help.
Thanks.
