I just want to say, with approaching 1,500 hours on Civ 5.. 4.22, 3/4 UC, Epic speed, Huge map, 7 difficulty, max City states, 9 Civ's, domination victory only playing as the Aztecs is providing me with the most fun I've had on this game.
I'm up to turn 350~. Taken over the Huns, trying to take over England but carpet's of units stopped me, half taken out Dido but their master Hiawatha defends them with his carpet's, and now Korea, who's been my friend/defensive pact partner since turn 50, who we've given 7-8 techs to each other, has just backstabbed me and bulldozed a city right next to my capital. However the Zulu's, unchecked have taken over way too many city states and are taking over Polynesia and Rome on the other site of the continent whilst having the most techs, most population and most cities, the endgame enemy.
I felt I'd won once I took over the Huns, I felt I lost once Dido/Hiawatha took over a city to my west, I felt I won when I had defended and moved my carpet to England not seeing any resistance(50 turns later I'd only taken 1 city), I felt I'd lost when Korea backstabbed me, and now... I honestly have no clue who will win, as it's just so... Balanced.
Everything feels balanced. Policies, Tech, Spies, Faith, unit damage taken and dealt, city health (possibly city damage could go up a tad). Tile improvement yields and building output's throughout the game exponentially increasing feels incredibly rewarding. There are many breakpoints/tech's where you genuinely feel the increase in power that the game almost feels impossible to be stale.
This project has been a work in progress for many years, but I'd like to thank all contributors for making a legendary game... well... Perfect.
Something I'd like to suggest - although I'm 99% is impossible - would be having a tech breakpoint (or congress founded/era reached) where 2 unit's (maybe 3 late-late game) could be on the same tile. Everything in this game increases exponentially, however amount of tiles stay the same. Late-game wars have hundreds of units leading to cramming, having 2 infantry on one hill to make it super-defended, double artillery in the back to provide big cover, again might be un-codeable but, would be very cool.
Regarding late-game - with a huge map and many, many units, crashing becomes worse and worse. I've got a modern processor, and 64gb ram but the outdated backbone of Civ 5 I believe leads to CTD/Memory crashes, I am getting used to quicksaving multiple times a turn however reloading the game still takes a few minutes every time, can I ask if there's any good solution to solve this?
Thankyou to everyone who's made this, everyone who continues to update, you're all legends!
