Hiya,

I've just gotten back into Civ 3 after playing Civ 4, I find the combat system to be a lot more fun! Anyway, my question centres around Great Leaders...I know that pressing 'B' in a city creates an army for you, however I am keen on hurrying the production of a wonder in my capital and aren't sure what key it is? I've pressed every letter but no cigar.

Anyone know this?

Couldn't find the answer on a search either,

Cheers,

TEP.

Can't you use the on-screen button?
Be careful you don't stumble upon the "disband" shortcut.

edit: if you hover over the on-screen button it should tell you the shortcut key...

Oh aye, using the on-screen button is the safest way to do it.

You'll get a warning at least if you try the 'disband' option.

And welcome to CFC The Evil Potato!

:woohoo:

are you playing the original or w/ expansion packs? in the conquests expansion pack military leaders (ones you get in a battle from elite units) cannot hurry great wonders.

In Conquests, there are 2 types of Great Leader: The Military Great Leader(MGL), and the Scientific Great Leader(SGL). MGL's come from elites winning battles and they can make an army or hurry anything except great wonders. SGL's can appear when you are first to research a tech, and can hurry great wonders. SGL's are rare, so use them wisely, hurry a really good great wonder, Pyramids, Sun Tzu's, or Hoover Dam.

To be precise, each time you are the first to research a tech there is a 3% chance of an SGL appearing. That is increased to 5% if you are playing as a scientific civ. ;)

SGL's can also initiate the 'Age Of Science' but this is not recommended as it doesn't work. In the end, it just adds up to the same amount of turns required for the exact same tech with or without initiating the 'Age Of Science'.
