Great People?

How many great people can you have per city?
Is it limited to only 5, because thats all it displays.

It will only display 5, but they will keep adding up. If you have caste system you can have unlimited merchant, scientist, and artist specialists.

Not specialist, but when you tell great people to work in a city... i cannot tell if it adds to the end and pushes the others along or if it just overrides one of them.

Hover mouse pointer over them and you'll see detailed info (at least in Warlords, before it was not shown as far as I remember)

Ah. i was failing at an OCC once and I just went into world builder and laid down a bunch of great engineers so i could have the production. i ended up with 200+ hammers. I think they just add up regardless of what you see.
