A question about cities here.
In Conquests, I've noticed that, when I play a Scientific civ, Scientists create three science while tax collectors and civil engineers create two. When I tried playing a civ that didn't have Commercial or Scienctific, the tax collectors and scientists both created two. (Didn't get far enough to get civil engineers, unfortunately.)
If you were to play an Industrious civ, would civil engineers create three production?
If that was so, I think that once civil engineers and railroads are made available, it would be a good idea to irrigate every grassland square, regardless of whether it is bonus or normal. Why? Every irrigated and railroaded grassland tile can support two citizens. Make the second citizen a civil engineer, and you'll get more production than if the tile was mined and could only support one citizen.
The math:
Grassland tile, irrigated, railroad: 4 food, 0 production + 3 production from C.E. for a total of 3 production
Grassland tile, bonus, irrigated, railroad: 4 food, 1 production + 3 production from C.E. for a total of 4 production
Grassland tile, mined, railroad: 2 food, 2 production
Grassland tile, bonus, mined, railroad: 2 food, 3 production
Is there any fault in my logic?
