The is a new option on the HOF Site called "Ad-Hoc Query". (You must be signed in to see it.)

It allows selections by Condition, Difficulty, Speed, Mapsize, Civ/Leader, and Map Type. There is an "Any" pick for each.

The top 50 entries that meet the selected criteria will be displayed.

In addition to the normal info there is a Map Type icon, the Submission Date, and some Game Options info. (See legend at the bottom of page for definition of Game Option abbreviations.)

Updates Feb, 28, 2009
  • Changed the Condition, Difficulty, Speed, Mapsize dropdowns to be multi-select lists. Use cntrl-click (or shift-click in some browsers?) to toggle selections.
  • Added the ability to sort list by score. "Sort by Score?" checkbox.
  • Removed Score Condition from list. Use "Sort by Score?" checkbox.
  • Added Entry Id column.

Ooooooooooooooooooh! Mr. Ambassador with this ad hoc query page you are really spoiling us ;)

Ever since ozbenno joined the team so many things have been done

Yes, great job ! :goodjob:

It's nice to see all Cultural/Space Colony/Score together.

Thanks a lot !

I like.

I can't believe I have the ONLY Emperor level/normal speed domination game on a continents map... All the other continents dom games at Emperor are Epic speed as well...

Could you add the ability to query based on starting era? It would be beneficial to players who are trying to maximize their Rock of Ages submissions to be able to filter based on the different eras so that they know what to shoot for.

Great tool :D

Is it possible to add the ability to excl. Inca an "EQM checkbox" ?

Being able to exclude duel sized maps while displaying all others would be niced too. An EQM qualifying check box is a great idea.

I is there a way to deselect a field? For example: in one query I selected a game speed, Normal, but in my next query I do not want anything in this field so that games of all speeds will be displayed. Once there is a blue selection highlighted, it doesn't allow me to deselect that filter option.

This is already possible. Simply don't select duel sized maps.

Yes. Hold the Ctrl key down and then click it with your mouse and it will deselect that item. For those who don't know, let me explain ways to select items. To click multiple items in succession you can click the first item and then while holding down the Shift key, click another item and everything between that item and the first item is selected. If you hold the Ctrl key down while clicking on an item, it only selects that item without selecting everything in between. Using combinations of the two keys would allow you to select mapsizes tiny to normal and huge, thereby not selecting duel or large.

Thanks for the turtorial. Maybe I should have waited a few hours and alsked Unclethrill to give me a tutorial of how to use the functions of the database query when I go to work so that I wouldn't be stuck with my foot in my mouth. Give me the duntz cap for today :)

I think exclude Inca option is a good idea.

And is there going to be a new Cure album Bob?

Thanks for adding the starting era feature. It isn't as useful as I had thought because I failed to recognize that games are not compared based on starting era so Ancient starts (not shown in my query) will be better than my advanced era start.

It's a nice feature any way. Thanks for the update.
