@Genocidicbunny, I don't think put my point across very well. I wouldn't judge a volunteer OS organisation on the quality of their GUI, but that's just me. Besides, I think the typical Linux user sees deeper than a GUI, again IMO.

Oh, the GUI was only an example. It was the easiest thing to explain for me, someone who uses Linux only occasionally and not very much. Im fairly certain a typical Linux user sees beneath the GUI, but I was also talking about OSS in general, maybe even a bit about free software, not necessarily OSS.
