Happy passover, indeed! My best friend growing up was Jewish, I used to like when passover rolled around, because I love the taste of mahtzoh (sp?), especially with peanut butter, and they would always have a ton left over for me to munch on.
Easter is a Christian holiday commemerating the Resurrection of Christ. Passover is a Jewish holiday commemerating the deliverance of the Jews from Egypt. But I suppose that if you were an Easter Orthodox Christian, today is Easter (if they still hold it on Passover, I'm not sure.)
I can't believe I looked at the calendar and saw Passover was the 16 and didn't realize TODAY was the 16th.
Isn't it great to have to Seder at home? The entire country is jammed and since it's usually over at around midnight you and just the way from here to Haifa (where all the relatives coming to us live) is an hour when the roads are clear, I wouldn't be surprised if they'll get stuck till 2AM. Poor people with houses not big enough for the entire family
G-man - I sincerely hope you get constipation from the Matzot. People who host the Seder without being practicing religious Jews (and as such unable to travel by car on holidays by religion) deserve to sit at the toilet for hours at a time.
And no, sh3kel, I ate only one matza. I did however finish a substential number of kneydalakhs (without that horrible watery thingy people tend to put around them).
Since it's kinda hard to make cakes for passovre my uncle brought an ice-cream cake. The only problem is that it melted. We did however use some creative thinking and used it on the fruits. Mhhh..... Vanilla apples....
@G-man - May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.
@cgannon64 - Not really, I mean, have you ever tried cleaning blood from wood? It gets into all the small cracks and crevices and never comes out... and the smell, oy gevalt, the smell!
